Please read the following and contact the State Senators listed at the bottom ASAP. They meet on Thursday afternoon. Please pass on to as many as possible. We need freedom in the health care market. Thanks Karen

Re: SB 263 Nurse Practitioner Access to Care

FACT: 10% of physicians cover 25% of the population living in rural areas. It is felt that 90% of those physicians are not taking new patients. These physicians are over the age of 55 and have no one to take their place once they retire. It takes 2-3 years to recruit a new physician to a rural area. Even if health reform was passed today, those living in rural areas would still not have access to care. Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs) can help to reduce the health professional shortage in the state.

FACT: All Free Clinics, Rural Health Clinics, Community Health Centers, the Virginia Department of Health and Federally Qualified Health Centers have NPs as staff or volunteers. The safety and quality of care provided by NPs and CNMs is well documented.

FACT: Rural areas can not support many physicians. It is too expensive and there are not enough patients to support most physicians’ desired income. NPs and CNMs are needed to establish "health safety net" and a medical home for those living in rural areas. The Virginia statutes that requires “physician supervision” and “written agreements with physicians” prevent NPs and CNMs from practicing, particularly in areas of physician shortage.

FACT: Many Virginia women would like to have a birth attended by a CNM. However, because the current Code of Virginia statutes require “supervision” and written agreements, many CNMs cannot practice, especially in rural areas. In fact most towns in Virginia have no CNM providing care. Women are intelligent beings and they can decide what type of maternity care they need. SB 263 will open the door for CNMs to care for women as part of the health care team in homes, in birth centers, and in the hospital setting. (4 CNMs in Southwestern VA currently unable to practice)

FACT: The Virginia Code has not been updated since the 1970’s for NPs. Virginia is one of only 12 states still requiring physician supervision for NPs. With the passage of this bill NPs and CNMs will continue to practice as part of the health care team by collaborating, consulting, and referring clients to physicians as needed.

Questions: Does every small town deserve to have a health care provider? Does every woman who wants to be cared for by CNM deserve to have one? Are Virginians smart enough to choose the health care provider that best fits their needs? If you feel the answer is YES then tell your Senator and the Senators on the subcommittee listed below to vote for SB 263 Access to Care-NPs practicing in collaboration with physicians.

Ways to make your computer blazingly fast:

There are probably a lot of great tweaks and performance hacks that I’ve missed here, so feel free to chime in with comments! Enjoy!

1. Defragment your computer hard disk using free tools like SmartDefrag.

2. You should also defragment your Windows pagefile and registry.

3. Clean up hard drive disk space being taken up by temporary files, the recycle bin, hibernation and more. You can also use a tool like TreeSize to determine what is taking up space on your hard drive.

4. Load up Windows faster by using Startup Delayer, a free program that will speed up the boot time of Windows by delaying the startup of programs.

5. Speaking of startup programs, many of them are useless and can be turned off. Use the MSCONFIG utility to disable startup programs.

6. By default, the size of the paging file is controlled by Windows, which can cause defragmentation. Also, the paging file should be on a different hard drive or partition than the boot partition. Read here on the rules for best paging file performance.

7. In Windows XP and Vista, the Windows Search indexing service is turned on for all local hard drives. Turning off indexing is a simple way to increase performance.

8. If you don’t care about all the fancy visual effects in Windows, you can turn them off by going to Performance Options.

9. You can optimize the Windows boot time using a free program called Bootvis from Microsoft.

10. Clean your registry by removing broken shortcuts, missing shared DLLs, invalid paths, invalid installer references and more. Read about the 10 best and free registry cleaners.

11. One of the main reasons why PC’s are slow is because of spyware. There are many programs to remove spyware including Ad-Aware, Giant Antispyware, SUPERAntiSpyware, and more.

12. If you have a deeper spyware infection that is very hard to remove, you can use HijackThis to remove spyware.

13. Remove unwanted pre-installed software (aka junk software) from your new PC using PC Decrapifier.

14. Disable unnecessary Windows services, settings, and programs that slow down your computer.

17. Tweak your mouse settings so that you can copy and paste faster, scroll faster, navigate quickly while browsing and more. Read here to learn how to tweak your mouse.

18. Delete temporary and unused files on your computer using a free program like CCleaner. It can also fix issues with your registry.

19. Delete your Internet browsing history, temporary Internet files, cookies to free up disk space.

20. Clean out the Windows prefetch folder to improve performance.

21. Disable the XP boot logo to speed up Windows boot time.

22. Reduce the number of fonts that your computer has to load up on startup.

23. Force Windows to unload DLLs from memory to free up RAM.

24. Run DOS programs in separate memory spaces for better performance.

25. Turn off system restore only if you regularly backup your Windows machine using third party software.

26. Move or change the location of your My Documents folder so that it is on a separate partition or hard drive.

27. Turn off default disk performance monitors on Windows XP to increase performance.

28. Speed up boot time by disabling unused ports on your Windows machine.

29. Use Process Lasso to speed up your computer by allowing it to make sure that no one process can completely overtake the CPU.

30. Make icons appear faster while browsing in My Computer by disabling search for network files and printers.

31. Speed up browsing of pictures and videos in Windows Vista by disabling the Vista thumbnails cache.

32. Edit the right-click context menu in Windows XP and Vista and remove unnecessary items to increase display speed.

33. Use the Windows Performance Toolkit and the trace logs to speed up Windows boot time.

34. Speed up your Internet browsing by using an external DNS server such as OpenDNS.

35. Improve Vista performance by using ReadyBoost, a new feature whereby Vista can use the free space on your USB drive as a caching mechanism.

36. If you have a slow Internet connection, you can browse web pages faster using a service called Finch, which converts it into simple text.

37. Use Vista Services Optimizer to disable unnecessary services in Vista safely.

38. Also, check out my list of web accelerators, which are programs that try to prefetch and cache the sites you are going to visit.

39. Speed up Mozilla Firefox by tweaking the configuration settings and by installing an add-on called FasterFox.

40. Learn how to build your own computer with the fastest parts and best hardware.

41. Use a program called TeraCopy to speed up file copying in Windows XP and Vista.

42. Disable automatic Last Access Timestamp to speed up Windows XP.

43. Speed up the Start Menu in Vista by hacking the MenuShowDelay key in the registry.

44. Increase the FileSystem memory cache in Vista to utilize a system with a large amount of RAM.

45. Install more RAM if you are running XP with less than 512 MB or Vista with less than 1 GB of RAM.

46. Shut down XP faster by reducing the wait time to kill hung applications.

47. Make sure that you have selected “Adjust for best performance” on the Performance tab in System Properties.

48. If you are reinstalling Windows, make sure that you partition your hard drives correctly to maximize performance.

49. Use Altiris software virtualization to install all of your programs into a virtual layer that does not affect the registry or system files.

50. Create and install virtual machines for free and install junk program, games, etc into the virtual machines instead of the host operating system. Check out Sun openxVM.

51. Do not clear your paging file during shutdown unless it is needed for security purposes. Clearing the paging file slows down shutdown.

52. If your XP or Vista computer is not using NFTS, make sure you convert your FAT disk to the NTFS file system.

53. Update all of your drivers in Windows, including chipset and motherboard drivers to their latest versions.

54. Every once in a while run the built-in Windows Disk Cleanup utility.

55. Enable DMA mode in Windows XP for IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers in Device Manager.

56. Remove unnecessary or old programs from the Add/Remove dialog of the Control Panel.

57. Use a program click memtest86 or Prime95 to check for bad memory on your PC.

58. Determine your BIOS version and check the manufactures website to see if you need to update your BIOS.

59. Every once in a while, clean your mouse, keyboard and computer fans of dust and other buildup.

60. Replace a slow hard drive with a faster 7200 RPM drive, SATA drive, or SAS drive.

61. Changing from Master/Slave to Cable Select on your hard drive configuration can significantly decrease your boot time.

62. Perform a virus scan on your computer regularly. If you don’t want to install virus protection, use some of the free online virus scanners.

63. Remove extra toolbars from your Windows taskbar and from your Internet browser.

64. Disable the Windows Vista Sidebar if you’re not really using it for anything important. All those gadgets take up memory and processing power.

65. If you have a SATA drive and you’re running Windows Vista, you can speed up your PC by enabling the advanced write caching features.

66. Learn how to use keyboard shortcuts for Windows, Microsoft Word, Outlook, or create your own keyboard shortcuts.

67. Turn off the Aero visual effects in Windows Vista to increase computer performance.

68. If you are technically savvy and don’t mind taking a few risks, you can try to overclock your processor.

69. Speed up the Send To menu in Explorer by typing “sendto” in the Run dialog box and deleting unnecessary items.

70. Make sure to download all the latest Windows Updates, Service Packs, and hot fixes as they “normally” help your computer work better.

71. Make sure that there are no bad sectors or other errors on your hard drive by using the ScanDisk orchkdsk utility.

72. If you are not using some of the hardware on your computer, i.e. floppy drive, CD-ROM drive, USB ports, IR ports, Firewire, etc, then go into your BIOS and disable them so that they do not use any power and do not have to be loaded during boot up.

73. If you have never used the Recent Documents feature in Windows, then disable it completely as a long list can affect PC performance.

74. One basic tweak that can help in performance is to disable error reporting in Windows XP

75. If you don’t care about a pretty interface, you should use the Windows Classic theme under Display Properties.

76. Disable short filenames if you are using NTFS by running the following command: fsutil behavior set disable8dot3 1. It will speed up the file creation process.

77. If you have lots of files in a single folder, it can slow down Explorer. It’s best to create multiple folders and spread out the files between the folders.

78. If you have files that are generally large, you might want to consider increasing the cluster size on NTFS to 16K or even 32K instead of 4K. This will help speed up opening of files.

79. If you have more than one disk in your PC, you can increase performance by moving your paging file to the second drive and formatting the volume using FAT32 instead of NTFS.

80. Turn off unnecessary features in Vista by going to Control Panel, choosing Uninstall a program, and then clicking on Turn Windows features on and off. You can turn off Remote Differential Compression, Tablet PC components, DFS replication service, Windows Fax & Scan, Windows Meeting Space, and lots more.

81. Install a free or commercial anti-virus program to help protect against viruses, etc. Make sure to use an anti-virus program that does not hog up all of your computer resources.

82. Completely uninstall programs and applications using a program like Revo Uninstaller. It will get rid of remnants left behind by normal uninstalls.

83. If you know what you are doing, you can install several hard drives into your machine and set them up in RAID 0, RAID 5, or other RAID configurations.

84. If you are using USB 1.0 ports, upgrade to 2.0. If you have a Firewire port, try to use that instead of a USB port since Firewire is faster than USB right now.

85. Remove the drivers for all old devices that may be hidden in Device Manager that you no longer use.

86. A more extreme option is to choose a faster operating system. If you find Vista to be slow, go with Windows XP. Switching to Mac or Linux is also an option.

87. One of the easiest ways to speed up your PC is to simply reformat it. Of course, you want to backup your data, but it is the best way to get your computer back to peak performance.

88. Speed up Internet browsing in IE by increasing the number of max connections per server in the registry.

89. If you use uTorrent to download torrents, you can increase the download speeds by tweaking the settings.

90. If you have a desktop background, make sure it’s a small and simple bitmap image rather than a fancy picture off the Internet. The best is to find a really small texture and to tile it.

91. For the Virtual Memory setting in Windows (right-click on My Computer, Properties, Advanced, Performance Settings, Advanced, Virtual Memory), make sure the MIN and MAX are both the same number.

92. If you search on Google a lot or Wikipedia, you can do it much faster on Vista by adding them to the Vista Start Menu Instant Search box.

93. If you have a custom built computer or a PC that was previously used, make sure to check the BIOS for optimal settings such as enabled CPU caches, correctly set IDE/SATA data transfer modes, memory timings, etc. You can also enable Fast/Quick boot if you have that option.

94. If you have a SCSI drive, make sure the write cache is enabled. You can do so by opening the properties of the SCSI drive in Windows.

95. If you have a machine with an older network card, make sure to enable the onboard processor for the network card, which will offload tasks from the CPU.

96. If you are using Windows Vista, you can disable the Welcome Center splash screen that always pops up.

97. If you already have anti-spyware software installed, turn off Windows Defender protection.

98. If you are running a 32-bit version of Windows and have 4GB of RAM or more, you can force Windows to see and use all of the RAM by enabling PAE.

I’m sure I have missed out on lots of performance tweaks, tips, hacks, etc, so feel free to post comments to add to the list! Enjoy!

Enjoy!

DUBAI (Reuters) - The seaside emirate of Dubai shifted into crisis mode this week as its breakneck building boom stalled, its lending bonanza evaporated and the government pondered wider steps to rescue banks.

Dubai -- self-styled bling capital of the Middle East, nightclub hotspot for the teetotalling Gulf and home to the world's tallest building and biggest mall -- has gone pear-shaped.

"It's gotten pretty ugly out there," analysts at Nomura Investment Banking wrote in a note this week, describing Dubai's property market as "a full-scale frenzy in which speculation went largely unchecked until it was very late."

The result may be a new business model for the emirate, one based less on debt and speculation.

Dubai's response is now being hammered out by a committee of business and government leaders charged with steering the emirate through the crisis and perhaps throwing its high-debt business model out the window.

Big developers have started firing staff and paring projects, banks like Emirates NBD ENBD.DU have blocked consumer credit to employees of companies at risk, and at least one major mortgage company has stopped lending altogether.

"Lenders blinded by rising oil prices and borrowers spellbound by easy returns have helped build a mountain of private sector debt in parts of the region that has generated an illusion of excess and abundance," Nomura said.

Now, investors fear that individuals and corporations alike will have trouble paying back Dubai's non-bank foreign currency debt estimated at just under $70 billion, according to estimates by ratings agency Fitch.

Shares in the region have lost around $1 trillion since the beginning of the year as investors fled. The UAE finance ministry said last month it would inject 70 billion dirhams ($19 billion) into the banking system, and is already looking at doing more to keep interbank liquidity flowing.

Many had hoped that the six countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) would escape the crisis due to their massive current account surpluses from energy exports.

"Dubai is the most vulnerable, as it has little oil and has been booming on the oil surpluses from the GCC, Iran and Russia," said analysts at Citibank this week.

DUBAI INC.

Dubai Inc. -- the name applied to the emirate because it is run more as a business than a state -- now faces a major overhaul and has taken on teams of consultants to advise on how it might reshape itself in an era of weaker credit, rising competition, falling speculation and narrower profit margins.

With barely any oil to call its own within the loose UAE confederation, Dubai made its bid for fame by housing banks, retail, media, shipping and logistics enterprises and by billing itself as a safe haven in a volatile region for investors.

Post-crisis, banks and property firms are likely to merge, developers retrench, and the wild culture of speculation grow tame.

"The solution is a comprehensive effort to consolidate the myriad of companies that make up Dubai Inc.," Citibank said.

In addition, some suggest that the monetary regimes in the Gulf -- all, except Kuwait, which peg their currencies to the dollar -- may need to restructure as floating regimes instead, a move likely to spur decades-old goals of monetary union.

Few anticipate default given the widespread view that Dubai is too big to fail and the implicit support provided by its neighbor Abu Dhabi -- home to the largest sovereign wealth fund in the world, ADIA.

"We believe Dubai will pull through with some help," Citibank said.

But with the cost of credit for the Gulf's top 22 financial firms rising from 30 basis points over LIBOR in early 2007 to around 200 now, many expect Dubai's spree to halt, plans to be swept from the drawing board, and existing projects to struggle.

The result, in the end, may be the sustainable growth model that Dubai has sought all along.

Brief about Swine Flu

Swine Flu

What is Swine Influenza?

Swine Influenza (swine flu) is a respiratory disease of pigs caused by type A influenza virus that regularly causes outbreaks of influenza in pigs. Swine flu viruses cause high levels of illness and low death rates in pigs. Swine influenza viruses may circulate among swine throughout the year, but most outbreaks occur during the late fall and winter months similar to outbreaks in humans. The classical swine flu virus (an influenza type A H1N1 virus) was first isolated from a pig in 1930.

How many swine flu viruses are there?
Like all influenza viruses, swine flu viruses change constantly. Pigs can be infected by avian influenza and human influenza viruses as well as swine influenza viruses. When influenza viruses from different species infect pigs, the viruses can reassort (i.e. swap genes) and new viruses that are a mix of swine, human and/or avian influenza viruses can emerge. Over the years, different variations of swine flu viruses have emerged. At this time, there are four main influenza type A virus subtypes that have been isolated in pigs: H1N1, H1N2, H3N2, and H3N1. However, most of the recently isolated influenza viruses from pigs have been H1N1 viruses.
Swine Flu in Humans

Can humans catch swine flu?
Swine flu viruses do not normally infect humans. However, sporadic human infections with swine flu have occurred. Most commonly, these cases occur in persons with direct exposure to pigs (e.g. children near pigs at a fair or workers in the swine industry). In addition, there have been documented cases of one person spreading swine flu to others. For example, an outbreak of apparent swine flu infection in pigs in Wisconsin in 1988 resulted in multiple human infections, and, although no community outbreak resulted, there was antibody evidence of virus transmission from the patient to health care workers who had close contact with the patient.

How common is swine flu infection in humans?
In the past, CDC received reports of approximately one human swine influenza virus infection every one to two years in the U.S., but from December 2005 through February 2009, 12 cases of human infection with swine influenza have been reported.

What are the symptoms of swine flu in humans?
The symptoms of swine flu in people are expected to be similar to the symptoms of regular human seasonal influenza and include fever, lethargy, lack of appetite and coughing. Some people with swine flu also have reported runny nose, sore throat, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.

Can people catch swine flu from eating pork?
No. Swine influenza viruses are not transmitted by food. You can not get swine influenza from eating pork or pork products. Eating properly handled and cooked pork and pork products is safe. Cooking pork to an internal temperature of 160°F kills the swine flu virus as it does other bacteria and viruses.

How does swine flu spread?
Influenza viruses can be directly transmitted from pigs to people and from people to pigs. Human infection with flu viruses from pigs are most likely to occur when people are in close proximity to infected pigs, such as in pig barns and livestock exhibits housing pigs at fairs. Human-to-human transmission of swine flu can also occur. This is thought to occur in the same way as seasonal flu occurs in people, which is mainly person-to-person transmission through coughing or sneezing of people infected with the influenza virus. People may become infected by touching something with flu viruses on it and then touching their mouth or nose.

What do we know about human-to-human spread of swine flu?
In September 1988, a previously healthy 32-year-old pregnant woman was hospitalized for pneumonia and died 8 days later. A swine H1N1 flu virus was detected. Four days before getting sick, the patient visited a county fair swine exhibition where there was widespread influenza-like illness among the swine.

In follow-up studies, 76% of swine exhibitors tested had antibody evidence of swine flu infection but no serious illnesses were detected among this group. Additional studies suggest that one to three health care personnel who had contact with the patient developed mild influenza-like illnesses with antibody evidence of swine flu infection.

How can human infections with swine influenza be diagnosed?
To diagnose swine influenza A infection, a respiratory specimen would generally need to be collected within the first 4 to 5 days of illness (when an infected person is most likely to be shedding virus). However, some persons, especially children, may shed virus for 7 days or longer. Identification as a swine flu influenza A virus requires sending the specimen to CDC for laboratory testing.

What medications are available to treat swine flu infections in humans?
There are four different antiviral drugs that are licensed for use in the US for the treatment of influenza: amantadine, rimantadine, oseltamivir and zanamivir. While most swine influenza viruses have been susceptible to all four drugs, the most recent H1N1 influenza viruses isolated from humans are resistant to amantadine and rimantadine.

What other examples of swine flu outbreaks are there?
Probably the most well known is an outbreak of swine flu among soldiers in Fort Dix, New Jersey in 1976. The virus caused disease with x-ray evidence of pneumonia in at least 4 soldiers and 1 death; all of these patients had previously been healthy. The virus was transmitted to close contacts in a basic training environment, with limited transmission outside the basic training group. The virus is thought to have circulated for a month and disappeared. The source of the virus, the exact time of its introduction into Fort Dix, and factors limiting its spread and duration are unknown. The Fort Dix outbreak may have been caused by introduction of an animal virus into a stressed human population in close contact in crowded facilities during the winter. The swine influenza A virus collected from a Fort Dix soldier was named A/New Jersey/76 (Hsw1N1).
Swine Flu in Pigs

How does swine flu spread among pigs?
Swine flu viruses are thought to be spread mostly through close contact among pigs and possibly from contaminated objects moving between infected and uninfected pigs. Herds with continuous swine flu infections and herds that are vaccinated against swine flu may have sporadic disease, or may show only mild or no symptoms of infection.

What are signs of swine flu in pigs?
Signs of swine flu in pigs can include sudden onset of fever, depression, coughing (barking), discharge from the nose or eyes, sneezing, breathing difficulties, eye redness or inflammation, and going off feed.

How common is swine flu among pigs?
H1N1 and H3N2 swine flu viruses are endemic among pig populations in the United States and something that the industry deals with routinely. Outbreaks among pigs normally occur in colder weather months (late fall and winter) and sometimes with the introduction of new pigs into susceptible herds. Studies have shown that the swine flu H1N1 is common throughout pig populations worldwide, with 25 percent of animals showing antibody evidence of infection. In the U.S. studies have shown that 30 percent of the pig population has antibody evidence of having had H1N1 infection. More specifically, 51 percent of pigs in the north-central U.S. have been shown to have antibody evidence of infection with swine H1N1. Human infections with swine flu H1N1 viruses are rare. There is currently no way to differentiate antibody produced in response to flu vaccination in pigs from antibody made in response to pig infections with swine H1N1 influenza.

While H1N1 swine viruses have been known to circulate among pig populations since at least 1930, H3N2 influenza viruses did not begin circulating among US pigs until 1998. The H3N2 viruses initially were introduced into the pig population from humans. The current swine flu H3N2 viruses are closely related to human H3N2 viruses.

Is there a vaccine for swine flu?
Vaccines are available to be given to pigs to prevent swine influenza. There is no vaccine to protect humans from swine flu. The seasonal influenza vaccine will likely help provide partial protection against swine H3N2, but not swine H1N1 viruses.

Barack Obama is less of a person than an image— a brand. People see what ever they want as they do on a Rorschach test. But does anyone really know him?
In fact, he is:

* An empty suit.
* A man with no birth certificate.
* A man who was deserted in childhood by his biological father.
* A man whose birth records, both in the United States and Kenya, are sealed by government order.
* A man whose childhood mentor, Frank Marshall Davis, spied on U.S. military installations in Hawaii for the Soviet Union, edited a communist newspaper, authored pornographic novels, and wrote poetry in praise of Joseph Stalin.
* A man mentored by and still supported by radical Muslims.
* A man who promised transparency in government, but has spent over a million dollars in legal fees hiding information that would determine his eligibility to be President.
* A former drug user.
* A man whose academic records are sealed from kindergarten through law school.
* A man who arrived in New York in June of 1981 without enough money to get a hotel room, but one month later flew to Indonesia and Pakistan.
* Why did he go?
* Who paid his expenses?
* A man who traveled to Pakistan when it was illegal for U.S. citizens to do so. So what country’s passport did he use?
* A man whose Law School Admission Test scores and grades at Columbia University are known to have been mediocre, but was admitted to Harvard Law School through the intervention of a Saudi named Khalid al -Mansour.
* A law review editor who never published an article in any law review.
* A lawyer with no significant accomplishments in the law and no reputation in the legal community.
* A former State and U.S. Senator, who never authored a piece of legislation.
* A disciple of the Marxist Saul Alinsky.
* A product of the Chicago political machine—the most corrupt political organization in America.
* A man who selects Marxists, corrupt politicians, and criminals as his close political associates and personal friends.
* A man whose presidential candidacy was endorsed by the Democratic Socialists of America, the Socialist International, and the Workers International League.
* A man lauded for the literary brilliance of two memoirs, both of which were ghostwritten by others.
* A so-called Christian who says that knowing when life human begins is “above his pay-grade,” but somehow knows that abortion is permissible at any stage.
* A man who thinks “waterboarding” is immoral, but that partial-birth abortion is moral.
* A man who publicly laments slavery in America—which was abolished 150 years ago—but praises Islam, which still practices both slavery and the sexual mutilation of young girls.
* A man who speaks endlessly about helping the less fortunate, but gives almost none of his sizeable income to charity—not even to his half-brother, who is living in squalor in Kenya.
* A man who had the most left-wing voting record in the United State Senate, but was predicted by the press to “govern from the middle.”
* A man who has never created a job, met a payroll, or even operated a lemonade stand, but wants to tell Detroit how to make cars.
* A President who has never before served as an executive in either the private or the public sector.
* A Commander-in-Chief who doesn’t know how to shoot a rifle, throw a hand-grenade, drive a tank, fly a plane, or con a ship.
* A Commander-in-Chief who has publicly divulged some of our nation’s most important intelligence secrets.
* A man who has been put in charge of the largest economic engine that ever existed, but has never invested in the stock market and admits total ignorance of it.
* A President who says that science will guide his administration, but has no education in the sciences.
* A man who is proficient in reading what is written for him on a teleprompter, but jerks and stammers his way through any off-the-cuff speaking.
* A man whose health records are sealed from childhood to the present day.
* A man whose educational records are sealed from childhood through law school.
* A man who spent 20 years in a church whose pastor espouses Marxist Liberation Theology, anti-Americanism, anti-capitalism, and anti-Semitism, but claims he never heard his pastor utter anti-American, and anti-Semitic statements.
* A man who added more to the National Debt in 100=2 0days than all other Presidents did in the past 220 years, yet feels qualified to lecture Americans about “fiscal responsibility”.
* A man who publicly expressed disdain for the U.S. Constitution on a Chicago radio station because it limited the government’s ability to “redistribute wealth.”
* The first American President to bow before a foreign head of state—a Muslim dictator.
* A man who sits and listens submissively while his country is castigated by Daniel Ortega—a Communist thug whose own daughter accused him of raping her.
* A narcissist who gave the Queen of England a present from the United States --an iPod containing recordings of his own speeches.
* A so-called Christian who officially declared “Pride Month” for a lifestyle that the Bible calls an abomination.
* A man who wanted Americans to ignore his Muslim name during his election campaign, yet boasts of his Muslim name when he travels to Muslim countries.
* A man who can name hundreds of America’s shortcomings, yet none of its great accomplishments.
* A President who claims the moral high ground by closing Gitmo yet supports the transfer of terror suspects to countries where horrific torture is certain.
* A President who scoffed at being called a socialist yet acted to nationalize the auto industry, the banking industry, and the insurance industry . . . and now seeks to nationalize the healthcare industry.
* A President who violates private property rights, the sanctity of contracts, and the rule of law—three essential principles that go back over a thousand years in the Common Law tradition.
* A man who promised 95% of all Americans a tax cut, but is increasing taxes on 100% of the population through inflation—the cruelest tax of all.
* A lawyer who represented ACORN—an organization now indicted in several states for voter fraud—whose stated goal is to get as many people on welfare as possible in order to destroy our financial system.
* A President who cheated GM’s bondholders by giving their property to the UAW in a political payoff.
* An American President who frequently criticizes his own country when speaking in foreign countries, but never praises America’s generosity, goodness or greatness.
* A President whose Secretary of the Treasury cheated on his taxes—as did several other appointees and advisors.
* A President who, despite the current federal debt of 100 trillion dollars, wants to add the greatest debt ever by nationalizing healthcare.
* A President who scoffs at being called a socialist, yet has appointed 28 “Czars” to circumvent constitutional government, including:
* A “Science Czar” who has advocated compulsory abortions for American women and the “surrender of sovereignty” to a “comprehensive Planetary Regime.”
* A self-professed communist as his “Green Jobs Czar”.
* A "Pay Czar” to regulate the pay of corporate executives.
* A President who swore an oath to “preserve, protect and defend the constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic,” yet has nominated a domestic enemy of the Constitution to the Supreme Court.
* A President whose Homeland Security Chief classified pro-lifers, veterans, and supporters of traditional marriage as terrorists.
* A President who stood silent while the Iranian government hacked unarmed protestors to death with axes, because it was an internal matter, but freely offers his opinions about the internal affairs of Israel and Honduras.
* A President who decreed that true acts of terrorism must now be described as “man-made disasters.”
* A President who cracks hurtful jokes about Special Olympians.
* A President who refused to intercept or inspect a North Korean ship virtually certain to be carrying Weapons of Mass Destruction toBurma.
* A President who wants to cancel all missile defenses while rogue nations are developing long-range ballistic missiles.
* An American President who blames the violence in Mexico on America.
* A Commander in Chief who claims to have been unaware that Air Force One was taken on a terrifying, low-level photo-op over Manhattan.
* A President who berates American CEO’s for flying in private planes at private expense on company business, but whose wife spends hundreds of thousands tax payer dollars flying to Paris for a shopping spree.
* A President who promised a transparent administration, but requires all questions be screened before “impromptu” appearances.
* A man who freely admitted that his energy policies are designed to bankrupt the American coal industry.
* A President who has presided over the loss of 14.7 million jobs and whose “energy policy” will cause the loss of another 1 million jobs.
* A President whose “energy policy” will increase the average American’s utility bills by over $2,000 a year in the middle of the Great Recession.
* A man about whom liberal journalist Tom Brokaw said, “There’s a lot about him we don’t know.” . . .just one week before the election.

The vast majority of Americans do not know who he is, but someone surely does. Someone paid for his travel expenses to Pakistan and Indonesia. Someone engineered legal challenges to all of his election opponents for the State Senate and had them disqualified. Someone straightened and leveled his path to the U.S. Senate when a Democrat Judge made public the child custody records of his Republican opponent. When he was a candidate for the U.S. Senate, someone arranged for him to speak at the 2004 Democratic National Convention. Someone saw to it that all of his records were sealed, both at home and abroad. Someone assembled the massive organization for his run for the Presidency. Someone knows all about him.
Someone saw to it that all of his records were sealed, both at home and abroad. Someone assembled the massive organization for his run for the Presidency. Someone knows all about him.

This has to be the email forward of the year! Please take a few
minutes to read and absorb just what this woman had to say, and then
hopefully everyone will pass it to their entire mailing list, and theirs
to theirs until it circles the nation! Time is short and arrogance,
stupidity and ignorance abound..............

The following letter read on Glenn Beck's show, is rapidly circulating
around the country. Americans everywhere identify with this 53-year-old
woman. She has given us a voice. Once you read this, you will want to
forward it to all of your friends...

GLENN BECK: I got a letter from a woman in Arizona . She writes an open
letter to our nation's leadership:

"I am a home grown American citizen, 53, registered Democrat all my
life. Before the last presidential election I registered as a Republican
because I no longer felt the Democratic Party represents my views or
works to pursue issues important to me. Now I no longer feel the
Republican Party represents my views or works to pursue issues important
to me. The fact is I no longer feel any political party or
representative in Washington represents my views or works to pursue the
issues important to me. Instead, we are burdened with Congressional
Dukes and Duchesses who think they know better than the citizens they
are supposed to represent.
There must be someone. Please tell me who you are. Please stand up and
tell me that you are there and that you're willing to fight for our
Constitution as it was written. Please stand up now.
You might ask yourself what my views and issues are that I would feel so
horribly disenfranchised by both major political parties. What kind of
nut-job am I? Well, these briefly are the views and issues for which I
seek representation:

One, illegal immigration. I want you to stop coddling illegal immigrants
and secure our borders. Close the underground tunnels. Stop the violence
and the trafficking in drugs and people. No amnesty, not again. Been
there, done that, no resolution. P.S., I'm not a racist. This is not to
be confused with legal immigration.

Two, the STIMULUS bill. I want it repealed and I want no further funding
supplied to it. We told you No, but you did it anyway. I want the
remaining unfunded 95% repealed. Freeze, repeal.

Three: Czars. I want the circumvention of our constitutional checks and
balances stopped immediately. Fire the czars. No more czars. Government
officials answer to the process, not to the president. Stop trampling on
our Constitution, and honor it.

Four, cap and trade. The debate on global warming is not over. There are
many conflicting opinions and it is too soon for this radical
legislation. Quit throwing our nation into politically-correct
quicksand.

Five, universal healthcare. I will not be rushed into another expensive
decision that will burden me, my children, and grandchildren. Don't you
dare try to pass this in the middle of the night without even reading
it. Slow down! Fix only what is broken -- we have the best health care
system in the world -- and test any new program in one or two states
first.

Six, growing government control. I want states rights and sovereignty
fully restored. I want less government in my life, not more. More is not
better! Shrink it down. Mind your own business. You have enough to take
care of with your real [Constitutional] obligations. Why don't you start
there.

Seven, ACORN. I do not want ACORN and its affiliates in charge of our
2010 census. I want them investigated. I also do not want mandatory
escrow fees contributed to them every time on every real estate deal
that closes -- how did they pull that one off? Stop the funding to
ACORN and its affiliates pending impartial audits and investigations. I
do not trust them with taking the census with our taxpayer money. I
don't trust them with any of our taxpayer money. Face up to the
allegations against them and get it resolved before taxpayers get any
more involved with them. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck,
hello. Stop protecting your political buddies. You work for us, the
people. Investigate.

Eight, redistribution of wealth. No, no, no. I work for my money. It is
mine. I have always worked for people with more money than I have
because they gave me jobs -- and that is the only redistribution of
wealth that I will support. I never got a job from a poor person! Why do
you want me to hate my employers? And what do you have against
shareholders making a profit?

Nine, charitable contributions.. Although I never got a job from a poor
person, I have helped many in need. Charity belongs in our local
communities, where we know our needs best and can use our local talent
and our local resources. Butt out, please. We want to do it ourselves.

Ten, corporate bailouts. Knock it off. Every company must sink or swim
like the rest of us. If there are hard times ahead, we'll be better off
just getting into it and letting the strong survive. Quick and painful.
(Have you ever ripped off a Band-Aid?) We will pull together.. Great
things happen in America under great hardship. Give us the chance to
innovate. We cannot disappoint you more than you have disappointed us.

Eleven, transparency and accountability. How about it? No, really, how
about it? Let's have it. Let's say we give the buzzwords a rest and have
some straight honest talk. Please stop trying to manipulate and appease
me with clever wording. I am not the idiot you obviously take me for.
Stop sneaking around and meeting in back rooms making deals with your
friends. It will only be a prelude to your criminal investigation. Stop
hiding things from me.

Twelve, unprecedented quick spending. Stop it now.
Take a breath. Listen to the people. Slow down and get some input from
nonpoliticians and experts on the subject. Stop making everything an
emergency. Stop speed-reading our bills into law. I am not an activist.
I am not a community organizer. Nor am I a terrorist, a militant or a
violent person. I am a parent and a grandparent. I work. I'm busy. I am
busy, and I am tired. I thought we elected competent people to take care
of the business of government so that we could work, raise our families,
pay our bills, have a little recreation, complain about taxes, endure
our hardships, pursue our personal goals, cut our lawn, wash our cars on
the weekends and be responsible contributing members of society and
teach our children to be the same all while living in the home of the
free and land of the brave.

I entrusted you with upholding the Constitution. I believed in the
checks and balances to keep from getting far off course. What happened?
You are very far off course. Do you really think I find humor in the
hiring of a speed reader to unintelligently ramble all through a bill
that you signed into law without knowing what it contained? I do not.
It is a mockery of the responsibility I have entrusted to you. It is a
slap in the face. I am not laughing at your arrogance. Why is it that I
feel as if you would not trust me to make a single decision about my own
life and how I would live it but you should expect that I should trust
you with the debt that you have laid on all of us and our children. We
did not want the TARP bill. We said no. We would repeal it if we could.
I am sure that we still cannot. There is needless urgency and
recklessness in all of your recent spending of our tax dollars.

>From my perspective, it seems that all of you have gone insane. I also
know that I am far from alone in these feelings. Do you honestly feel
that your current pursuits have merit to patriotic Americans? We want it
to stop. We want to put the brakes on everything that is being rushed by
us and forced upon us. We want our voice back.. You have forced us to
put our lives on hold to straighten out the mess that you are making. We
will have to give up our vacations, our time spent with our children,
any relaxation time we may have had and money we cannot afford to spend
on bringing our concerns to Washington . Our president often knows all
the right buzzwords like unsustainable. Well, no kidding. How many tens
of thousands of dollars did the focus group cost to come up with that
word? We don't want your overpriced words. Stop treating us like we're
morons.

We want all of you to stop focusing on your reelection and do the job we
want done, not the job you want done or the job your party wants done.
You work for us and at this rate I guarantee you not for long because we
are coming. We will be heard and we will be represented.. You think
we're so busy with our lives that we will never come for you? We are the
formerly silent majority, all of us who quietly work, pay taxes, obey
the law, vote, save money, keep our noses to the grindstone... and we
are now looking at you.
You have awakened us, the patriotic freedom spirit so strong and so
powerful that it had been sleeping too long. You have pushed us too far.
Our numbers are great. They may surprise you. For every one of us who
will be there, there will be hundreds more that could not come. Unlike
you, we have their trust. We will represent them honestly, rest assured.
They will be at the polls on voting day to usher you out of office.
We have cancelled vacations. We will use our last few dollars saved. We
will find the representation among us and a grassroots campaign will
flourish. We didn't ask for this fight. But the gloves are coming off.
We do not come in violence, but we are angry. You will represent us or
you will be replaced with someone who will. There are candidates among
us who will rise like a Phoenix from the ashes that you have made of our
constitution.

Democrat, Republican, independent, libertarian. Understand this. We
don't care. Political parties are meaningless to us Patriotic Americans
are willing to do right by us and our Constitution, and that is all that
matters to us now. We are going to fire all of you who abuse power and
seek more. It is not your power. It is ours and we want it back. We
entrusted you with it and you abused it. You are dishonorable. You are
dishonest. As Americans we are ashamed of you. You have brought shame to
us. If you are not representing the wants and needs of your constituency
loudly and consistently, in spite of the objections of your party, you
will be fired. Did you hear? We no longer care about your political
parties. You need to be loyal to us, not to them.. Because we will get
you fired and they will not save you.
If you do or can represent me, my issues, my views, please stand up.
Make your identity known. You need to make some noise about it. Speak
up. I need to know who you are. If you do not speak up, you will be
herded out with the rest of the sheep and we will replace the whole damn
congress if need be one by one. We are coming. Are we coming for you?
Who do you represent? What do you represent? Listen. Because we are
coming. We the people are coming."
The guy who posted the video described it as follows:

Quote:Jim Rogers, the billionaire investor who ran the Soros fund with fellow billionaire George Soros, debates with Martin, the clueless CNBC anchor about whether we are headed for an inflationary or deflationary environment in the coming years.

Martin is unbelievably annoying in this clip. He's trying to educate Jim Rogers, instead of letting the BILLIONAIRE give his point of view. I'm sure Jim Rogers didn't come on CNBC to get financial advise from Martin.

Hey Martin, here's an idea, when you have a guest on who is a BILLIONAIRE, let him do the talking and give his point of view because HE is the reason the viewers are watching, not YOU. We could care less about your point of view. Just get the big dogs on, let them speak, and shut your pie hole, okay? thanks.

Keep telling it like it is Jim, and i'll keep listening. We need more Jim Rogers', Ron Paul's, Peter Schiff's, and Robert Kiyosaki's in the world telling us the truth. I'm really not too excited to hear what Martin of CNBC thinks, since I already know far more than he does. I'll take my advice from the billionaires, thank you.

Peace,
I am relatively new to this site, but have been involved in more national aspects of the struggle at hand.
It seems that The House has decided to ignore our voice and passed our dear friend Barry's adgenda.
I find it unacceptable that "We The People's" voices are no longer considered by this current administration.
My point is: what are we doing locally to stop this from going to the extreemes that it will undoubtably attain?
Obviously, Puppett Perriello is a one term looser, but can we sit around until 2010?
