4th of July Celebration!

Plans are being made for a Tea Party style 4th of July celebration! The Roanoke Tea Party is putting together a day long event at Elmwood Park. There will be speakers, music and food capped off by Fireworks!! Details/Times will be posted as they are available. Please, when you attend wear your Franklin County Patriots gear!

The next meeting of the Franklin County Patriots will be May 18th at 5:45 PM at the Franklin County Library

Ken Boyd and Feda Morton will be there to discuss and present their platforms on the critical issues of today and tomorrow as well as answer any questions you may have. Please be sure to make plans to be there and bring friends, family, and neighbors!

5th District Debates

The Various 5th District Tea Parties are sponsoring debates between the Republican candidates that are vying for the nomination to run against Perriello in November.

The first debate is…

Friday, January 22 at 7:00 p.m.

Lane Auditorium

401 McIntire Road

Charlottesville, V.A.

The second one will be in February and the third in March. I will let you know date, time and place later.

It is not certain that Robert Hurt will NOT be there. Rumors have it that he might show up. We shall see.

These debates are VERY important and your attendance is IMPORTANT at ALL THREE! Media will be there and body count is important. Please make every effort to attend. If it is absolutely impossible for you to attend all three, please make it to at least one or two. Remember, these are sponsored by your fellow tea party patriots!

Mass Meeting – Thursday,November 12th – “Turkeys in Congress” Campaign

October Surprise was great but our November “Turkeys in Congress” Campaign is going to be even better! The idea is that people can donate frozen turkeys (any size) in the name of their “biggest turkey” in Congress. Come to the meeting and be ready for some hilarious fun! You will have a chance to tell why you think your nomination is the “biggest turkey.” Everyone who votes consents to donate one frozen turkey in the nominee’s name. You can vote as many times as you wish. The turkeys will be donated to Franklin County area Food Banks in the name of our “Turkeys in Congress” winners. We will get radio and news coverage and send out email blasts. Other tea parties are welcomed to get involved or hold similar function on their own. Credit is given to Hampton Roads Tea Party for the original idea. Collection of donated turkeys will be held on Saturday, November 21st from 10AM–12PM. (Location to be announced at the mass meeting.)

Invite your friends and neighbors to the meeting. Special guest, Feda Morton, will also be with us to share why she is throwing her hat into the Congressional race! She is a school teacher, coach and mother of six – five sons, one daughter. Don’t miss this meeting – Thursday, November 12th at 6:30 PM (sharp) at the Franklin Learning Center, 50 Claiborne Ave. Rocky Mount.

October 1st – Thomas Jefferson Committee Meeting!

The Thomas Jefferson Committee metting will be October 1st at 6:00 PM

The meeting place will be the The Franklin Center, Room 213

We plan to discuss current legislation and how we can lobby our representatives.

We will also talk about using the web site and the discussion forum to share information and ideas.
